This office maintains a website with information specific to Northern Houghton County and Southern Houghton County as well as helpful links to learn about weather and weather conditions across the country. When there are weather watches or warnings, this website will provide specific information. Boating Weather Conditions can also be obtained from the National Weather Service.

Maintain your car: Check battery and tire tread, keep your windows clear, put no-freeze liquid in the washer reservoir, check your antifreeze.

Carry in your car: Flashlight, jumper cables, abrasive material (sand, kittylitter), shovel, snow brush, ice scraper, warning devices (like flares), and blankets. For long trips add food, water, medication, and cell phone.
